Omega-3 and its values underlined again
Omega-3s are known to be good for your skin and hair. Its anti-aging properties are also well known. What many do not know is that it is a great anti-inflammatory agent, and therefore it is also helpful with arthritic conditions.
“Arthritis patients often benefit from taking omega-3 capsules because they have good anti-inflammatory properties,” says Dr. Rajiv Bhatia, orthopedist. “And while I’m an allopathic doctor, I prescribe them to my patients quite often, especially those with pre-arthritis or even those with sports injuries like sprains and torn ligaments.
Other benefits of omega-3
Good mood booster: Omega-3 helps improve mood and counteract blues and depression to some extent. “Omega-3 has been shown to improve the release of hormones in the brain. I prescribe it to my patients, ”says Dr. Rajendra Barve, psychiatrist.
Immunity Booster: Like vitamin C, omega-3 has immunity boosters that fight disease and help keep it at bay.
